TAXI PRICES

 

In this section of our website there will be information on Taxi and Hackney pricing, if there is information that you require that is not here please do not hesitate to contact us at: info@rapidcabs.com

 

In Ireland there is two type of cab transport, one is Hackney (Private hire car which cannot be "flagged down") and has a fixed pricing structure, and the other are Taxis (Public Cars which can be "flagged down") and use their taxi meter to charge customers. On the 25th September 2006, the taxi regulator introduced the new National Taxi Fare was introduced which will consist of the following;

• An Initial Charge

• A Charge for further travel based on either distance travelled or the time elapsed and calculated across three graduated tariffs

• A Premium at certain times and on certain days

• Extra Charges, where applicable

A special premium rate applies between Christmas Eve 20:00hrs to St Stephens Day 08:00hrs and New Years Eve 20:00hrs to

New Years Day 08:00hrs. During these periods

Tariff C is applied immediately after the premium rate initial charge.

 

Here is a sample list of approximate charges by Taxis on the meter (excluding any extras). Please note this is solely based on distance, when cars are going at a speed of less than 21km per hour the fare will also be based on time, which will make the fare more expensive.

 

 

HACKNEY PRICING

 The following are the hackney prices charged by Rapid Cabs

DAY RATE:  €6.50 3.2 kilometres to 5.1 kilometres or 2 miles or 3.2 miles

DAY RATE: €8.00 5.1 kilometres to 7.3 kilometres or 3.2 miles or 4.5 miles

DAY RATE: Other Prices: €1.10 Per Kilometres or €1.70 Per Mile

 

 

 

 

 

 

NIGHT RATE: €6.50 first  3.2 kilometres or 2 Miles

NIGHT RATE: €8.00 3.2 kilometres to 5.1 kilometres or 2 miles or 3.2 miles

NIGHT RATE: €10.00 5.1 kilometres to 7.3 kilometres or 3.2 miles or 4.5 miles

NIGHT RATE: Other Prices: €1.20 Per Kilometres or €1.90 Per Mile

 

 

 

Waiting Time:  €25 Per Hour (day)     €30 Per Hour (night)

DAY RATE:        8am to 8pm    NIGHT RATE:    8pm to 8am and Sundays & Bank Holidays

 

 

 

Extra Drops  €1.00

do not tolerate this under any circumstances, please always

ensure that you get a receipt from the driver. It is our

company policy to give a full refund if any

customer has been overcharged.
